Top 5 Tips For Female Freeriders

For all the women who love freeride skiing, we have put together 5 top tips to enjoy this experience to the fullest. We all love the pure adrenaline of coming down on the fresh snow after hours of hiking up the mountain; there is nothing better than that!

But to get the best out of our freeride experience, you also need to make sure you have the right equipment, and you plan your epic days ahead. Let's see how to make your off-piste experience even better!

Safety First

First of all, you must take an avalanche kit with you during your freeride trip. You can order one online or get it from a rental shop on the mountain. A basic kit must contain at least a probe, a transceiver and a shovel. Please remember to bring all of them with you; they are all essential. These kits are mandatory in most ski localities when you go off the slopes. If you are caught without, you might end up with your pass taken from you.

The kit and all of its items are critical in the event of an avalanche, and they can save lives. The right set should be easy to store in your backpack and not take up too much space or be too heavy.
Remember to check the weather forecast and avalanche report before a big day on the mountain. If you do, you can prepare for it and add more layers to your outfit. Change the lens of your goggles depending on the light conditions too.

Go with friends

Another important tip is not to go freeriding alone, but make sure you always go off-piste with someone.  Not only to have the most fun but also to have some in case of need. If you are off the slopes and away from controlled areas, make sure that you have someone to look out for and vice versa.

Equipment

Make sure your ski jacket has the right waterproof and breathable properties but also that you have extras such as pockets, goggle wipe and more. It should be stylish as well; the style is also something you don't want to forget either, isn't it?
