Trick Tip: How To Ride Powder On A Snowboard

Snowboarding experts know how fun and exciting the off-piste experience is. But in the same way, we know that there are rules to follow, especially when it comes to safety.
Snowboarding off slopes requires a rather advanced level of skill and a thorough knowledge of the safety rules. Those who approach the off-piste should have attended an avalanche course and bring an avalanche kit with them. The kit contains a transceiver, a shovel and a probe.

What to watch out for

In addition to the avalanche danger, off-piste snowboarding requires further measures, mainly about the equipment.
First of all jacket and trousers should have a rather high degree of waterproofness and breathability to make you stay dry but without making you sweat either.
The bindings of your snowboard should be adjusted for the backcountry riding; this means moving them a few centimetres towards the tail of the snowboard, to facilitate the weight on the rear foot.
Once ready, remember to pay attention to the various obstacles that you might find off-piste and never go alone, but always with a group of friends.
