Start with a bit of practice

We all agree that the right technique is essential to improve your ski tricks, but what are the fundamental aspects to consider when practicing?

The ski season has started, the gear is ready and we can't wait to try some new tricks. But being in rush does not help. So, a little bit of work needs to be done. Tricks are not suitable for those unfamiliar with skiing. For all those who have already approached the world of jumps and tricks, we want to give some extra tips to avoid the most common mistakes and improve your technique.

First of all it is essential to try to pop from a standstill. A Pop is the basis of every jump and it is important to practice starting from the basics. A pop can be tested standing on a flat surface, with skis and boots. This is a fairly normal, straight jump. Practice exercises are used to calibrate timing and speed, all in preparation for hitting a jump.

Once we are confident with a standing still pop, we can try to add a little bit of speed. To do this it is important to find a surface with a gentle slope, in order to make it possible to test what you have tried from a standstill, adding a bit of speed. Trying the timing here will take a little bit, so no don'n rush it. It takes patience and lots of practice.
